just a few blocks from where i'm living is a HUGE tradition Bavarian beer garden, the Grüner Baum. of course i had to try their schnitzel... it was awesome. for dessert i had a dampfnudel, which is basically a sweet dumpling. this one was served in a pool of vanilla puddling like sauce. 

the thing about traditional Bavarian beer gardens that i just found out, is that they all have a large area where you can bring your own food. it's basically a picnic area, but they expect you to buy beer from them, obviously.
