Today we had a field trip to brew at Braucon. It's a company that started as a manufacturer of brewing equipment. They make some pretty incredible stuff, especially their automated systems. The owner decided to open a little brewpub on the premises, and it has taken off. Apparently letting brewers come brew on their pilot system has been a great sales technique. The system is gorgeous. It really shows off what they can do. The also have a ton of different beers on tap, many of which are modeled after American styles. 

We were supposed to brew there, but the system is SO automated, that we pretty much just hung out and drank beer and ate all sorts of meats they fed us. 

They are right on this little river. It's really an amazing place.

On the way there, we got a little lost, and one of our professors backed the van WAY into a ditch. We were totally bottomed out, and had to get out and lift the van out. I managed to capture the last few seconds of it on video.
